		| Installing Active Directory 
 
 1) Log on to Windows 2000 Server as Administrator.
 
 2) Click Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, then click Configure Your Server
 
 3) Click Active Directory on left side of the Window
 
 4) Scroll down and click on Start the Active Directory Wizard in the right window panel
 
 5) Click Next
 
 6) Click Domain Controller for a new domain, click Next
 
 7) Click Create a new domain tree, click Next
 
 8) Click Create a new forest of domain trees, click Next
 
 9) Enter a domain name, eg dory.com, click Next
 
 10) Leave the default NETBIOS name, click Next
 
 11) Leave default path for database location, click Next
 
 12) Leave the default path for shared volume location, click Next (you can now also install DNS server through the wizard option)
 
 13) At the permissions window click Permissions compatible with pre-Windows 2000 Servers, click Next
 
 14) Enter a Password for the Administrator, click Next
 
 15) Click Next again, (waiting period)
 
 16) Click Finish
 
 17) Click Restart Now, (note - the first restart after installation is complete will take a longer then normal).
